Glenn Henry Atkins, 71, Cumberland City, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bros. John Maxey and Wayne Purcell officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 10, 1938 in Montgomery County, TN, son of the late William Henry Atkins and Elsie Christine Watson Atkins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Matthew Dwayne Atkins. Mr. Atkins was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a farmer and attended Highview Baptist Church, McEwen, TN. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margaret Ann Lynch Atkins, son Joey G. (Brenda) Atkins, grandson Johnny Glenn (Tenea) Atkins, all of Cumberland City, brothers James (Olean) Atkins of Ashland City and William Dean Atkins of Cumberland City, sisters Earleen Smith and Elsie (Dudley) Marklin, both of Clarksville, and great grandchildren Jonathan Atkins, Shelby Atkins, Kaylee Mickle, and Makenzie West. Pallbearers will be Clif Marklin, Mike Smith, Chris Atkins, David Lynch, Mark Smith, Kevin Harrison, and Steven Atkins.
