Glendon Groves

Glendon (Jim Peay) Groves, 84, Clarksville, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will be in Jackson's Chapel Cemetery, Dickson County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born July 17, 1923 in Cheatham Co., Tennessee, son of Ervin Groves and Melinda (Lennie) Christy Groves. Mr. Groves was a businessman and owner of G's Flea Market. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dollie Mae Proctor Groves and stepson, Terry Hinton. Survivors include his wife, Wilmuth Stinson Groves of Clarksville, sons Kenny Groves and Jerry Groves, both of Clarksville, grandchildren Amber Hinton, Leslie Hinton, Shane Hinton, and Billy Groves, and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Groves, Michael Young, Buck White, and Shane Hinton. Jay Myers will serve as honorary pallbearer.
