Gholson "Goat" Crockett, 83, Palmyra, went home on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Mackens officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Crockett was born February 18, 1928 in Montgomery County and was the son of the late Tanner and Dessie Kelly Crockett. He was retired from the Clarksville Street Department and a member of New Cannan Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lettie Dale (Jim) Harrison; sons, Thomas (Sara) Crockett, Rocky (Joanne) Crockett, Mark (Joyce) Crockett, Johnny (Rebecca) Crockett; sisters, Margaret Kurtzer, Rhea C. Hall, Annie Herrell; grandchildren, Jerry Akins, Elaine Byard, Jason Cook, Jamie Crockett, Denise Crockett, Thomas Crockett Jr.; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
