Gertrude Matteson

Gertrude P. Matteson, 86, Clarksville, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born October 29, 1923, daughter of Lawrence T. and Mable Weaver Payne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Matteson and her daughter, Donna Thomopoulos. Mrs. Matteson was a Nurse and a member of First Baptist Church, Clarksville. She is survived by her son Drew Matteson of Atlanta; grandchildren Matthew S. Matteson, Andrew C. Matteson, Adena A. Helm, and Christa D. Denson; and eight great-grandchildren.
