Geraldine Travis

Geraldine “Gerry” Leone Travis, age 89 of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Signature Healthcare of Erin.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Faye Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in McIntosh Cemetery.
The Travis family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday afternoon.
Gerry entered this life on October 14, 1929 in Ann Arbor, MI, daughter to the late Frederick and Gladys Ulstead Weiss. Gerry was a beautician by trade. Gerry had a free, creative spirit. She was a unique, special person unlike any other. She enjoyed being outdoors. Fishing, camping, and gardening were among some of the things she enjoyed doing outside. Her hobbies included collecting rocks, bird watching and making crafts from things she found. She liked to travel and attend Home Demonstration Club. She loved being with family and going to church. She loved singing and dancing. She was a true example of love, loyalty, strength, forgiveness and faith. She radiated joy and beauty. Her memory will live on in our hearts as she dances and sings praises to God with the angels. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family, and she will greatly be missed.
In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Travis; sister, Evelyn Wilt; brother, Albert Weiss, and grandson, Joshua Sullivan.
Survivors include her husband, Harlan Travis; children, Diane Ogle, Lorrie Travis, Deborah (Gary) Ower; siblings, Ray (Barbara) Weiss, Walter (Eileen) Weiss, and Gloria (Robert) Wenger. Gerry also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Gary Wayne Owen, Scott (American) Owen, Jill (Phillip) Caldwell, Jared (Amber) Sullivan, Alison Epps, Sarah (Garrett) Parker, Caleb Ogle, Jacob Ogle, Grace (Chase) Lewis, Jennifer (Doug) Oddon, Katie Richardson, and thirty-five great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Wayne Owen, Scott Owen, Jared Sullivan, Caleb Ogle, Jacob Ogle, Hunter Caldwell, Grey Epps, and Micah Richardson.
