Gerald Monroe Clayman, age 59, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Houston Co. Community Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jessie Tharpe officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Cemetery. The Clayman family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 noon until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Gerald entered into this life on January 19, 1958 in Painesville, Ohio to parents John William Clayman and Charlyne Beattie Clayman. Gerald was a longtime employee of Clarksville Gas & Water and was nearing retirement. He especially looked forward to spending more time with his family who he dearly loved. Also, Gerald enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra Grimes Clayman; his sons, Jerry "Booder" Clayman and his wife Juanita and Benjamin "B.J." Passe; siblings, John Clayman (Joyce), George Clayman (Linda), Greg Clayman (Kim), Jennifer Hasenauer (Ken), and Loretta Cripps (Dave). He was the doting grandfather of seven grandchildren and best friend to his four-legged, faithful companion, Sophie May.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Grimes, Brian Shelby, Bill Jennings, Morris Haithcoat, Vince Boyd, and Buford "Butch" Thaxton.
