George Howell

George William Howell, 75, Southside, died Friday, February 6, 2009, at his home. The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Harriet Bryan Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 17, 1933 in Framingham, MA, son of William George and Delphia Otenti Howell. Mr. Howell was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, retired from Otis Elevator, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Maffioli Howell of Southside, TN; children Georgeanne (Richard) Smith of Swansea, MA, Carolann Larkin of E. Providence, RI, Kathleen (Richard) Hayes of Southside, TN, John Howell of Bloomington, IN, Judy (Bob Marlow) Howell of Leesville, IN, Michael Howell of Bloomington, IN, Mark (Mary)Howell of Dayton, OH, Sharon (Mark) Peterson of Sarasota, FL, Jeffrey Howell and wife Chris Underwood of Bloomington, IN, brothers Gary William Howell and Patrick Tigue, sister Maralena Howell Pennalatore; twenty two grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, 350 Pageant Ln., Clarksville, TN 37040 or Heifer Project International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202.
