George Benton Haddox, 70, Clarksville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Haddox was born July 23, 1940 in Mount Rose, MI and was preceded in death by his father, Homer Benton Haddox; Mother, Verna Louise Bergy Haddox Bender; step-father, Tom Bender; and his sister, Betty Mae Manning. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service and later retired from Boeing Aircraft as a field rep. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #761 F & AM. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Hall Haddox, Clarksville; daughters, Tiffany (Hank) Lang, Newark, OH, Katie (Derrick) Carroll, Clarksville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
