George E. Park

January 17, 1936 — February 10, 2016

George Earl Park, Jr., 80 of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Martha Rucker officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday.
George was born on January 17, 1936 in Camden, New Jersey, the son of the late George Earl Park, Sr. and Anna Catherine Stinson Park. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, George W. Park, Sr.; daughter, Joan Elizabeth Park; great-grandson, William James Park III.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 earning the National Defense Medal and Parachute Badge. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne, South Jersey Chapter. He worked as a self-employed house painter for 30 years. George was a firefighter for Delaware Gardens Fire Department in Pennsauken, NJ.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joan Elizabeth (Tomlinson) Park; sons, William “Bill” J. (Karen) Park, Earl “Chip” P. (Lori Ann) Park, Gerald “Jerry” J. (Christie) Park, and Eric M. (Theresa) Park; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
