Gene Hoyt

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Gene Van Hoyt on the evening of Monday, October 30th at his home.

Gene was born in Fayetteville, N.C. on May 2, 1973 to Earl and Gai Hoyt. He graduated from Northwest High School, Clarksville, TN in 1991. He started his concrete business almost 30 years ago and contributed to the community for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity for many years and was proud of his collaboration with them.

Gene was a man of integrity and had a huge heart, great work ethics and his witty sense of humor is what made him so special.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Earl Hoyt. He leaves behind his loving wife, Paula. He is also survived by his sisters Yen Hoyt and Sara (Hector) Guerra, nephews Antonio Jett and Austin (Alex) Guerra, nieces Shanai Jett, Kayla Jett, Lilliana Garcia and Cynthia Towne, great nieces Taliyah and Sarena Arnold, Breanna Thornberry and great nephews Tristen and Adam Kelly, Xavier Thornberry.

A celebration of his life ceremony will be at Yellow Creek Baptist Church, 4506 Ellis Mills Rd, Cumberland City, TN on Friday, November 10th beginning at 5:00pm followed by fellowship and refreshments.

Gene will be forever missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. We love you.
