Gene Black

Gene Black, 70 of Palmyra, passed away on November 17, 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2019 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery. The Black family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2019 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Black was born on January 4, 1949; son of the late Owen and Bessie Dennis Black. He worked over 20 years in the Off-Shore Oil industry as a Head Mechanic. Mr. Black was also a member of the Merchant Marines.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Black was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Davis Black; brother, Cecil Black; and sister, Betty Lynch.
Survivors include his son, Chuck Black and his wife Sue; daughter, Marissa Torbett and her husband Drew; grandchildren, Steven Tussey, Jonathan Tussey, Tyler Guest, Breanna Black, Ryan Black, Seth Black, and Logan Black; one great grandchild, Jesse Tussey.
