Garth Knox

Garth Sennett Knox, age 42, of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023.
Celebration of Life will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Walsh officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Garth entered this life on December 23, 1980, in Batavia, NY to Todd Knox and Linda Norton Knox. He was a kind person, always caring for others, and would give anyone the shirt off his back. His sense of humor and ability to make others laugh was incomparable. Garth enjoyed watching Alabama football and going to the gun range. He was a graduate of State University New York Brockport, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Garth started his lifelong law enforcement career in 2003, as a corrections officer for the state of New York. He eventually went to child and family services and specialized in working with juveniles. In 2017, Garth went to work for The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as Staff Sergeant.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Praton Knox.
Survivors include his loving wife, Anna Knox; mother, Linda Knox; brother, Shane Borton; mother-in-law, Tina (Ronald) Tefft; brother and sisters-in-law, David Waterman, Sonya Bonviaino, and Daryl Zayachek; grandfather-in-law, Hugh Westcott; uncles, Robert Norton and Jud Knox; cousin, Krista Norton, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to his wife, Anna Knox.
