Garner "Lynn" Fields

December 16, 1943 — December 1, 2021

Garner Lynn Fields made her grand exit from this realm on Dec. 1, 2021. Known only as “Lynn” (she hated the name “Garner”) she was never a fan of dramatics—this was true even in death as she departed quietly and peacefully at home of natural causes. She would have wanted it known it was not from “that damn Covid.”

Lynn joined this world on Dec 16, 1943, to her loving parents, Bill and Norma Nabors. She enjoyed an eventful life which included graduating APSU with a Bachelor of Science, spending many years teaching, sailing about the Gulf of Mexico with her loving husband, and the pleasure of raising an only child.

She was a savior to all four-legged souls in need and a fierce advocate for animal rights. Lynn leaves a legacy of intellectual comradery, talented storytelling, and a lifetime of memories with her beloved grandsons.

Those left to remember Lynn’s unique and spirited ways are her daughter, Lee Wambles (Matt), her two grandchildren, Dylan and Dax Johnson, her brother, Bilco Nabors and a handful of dear and special friends.

She firmly believed in having no memorial service and refused to consider a traditional burial. Her stance was “To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”
(JR) Here’s to her next great adventure….
