Garland Wayne (Carl) Ambrose, 53, Clarksville, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center after an extended illness. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson with Rev. Louie Montoya officiating. Burial will be in Nicholson Family Cemetery, Cheatham County. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 15, 1955 in Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Ambrose and Wilma Presnell Ambrose; brothers, J.D. Hannah, Jr. and Archie Ambrose. Mr. Ambrose was a Baptist and retired/disabled from W.L. Hailey and Company as a lead Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Tammy Mohon Ambrose; sons, Brandon Ambrose and Hunter Ambrose, all of Clarksville; brothers, Anthony Hannah, Chesapeake, VA, Kenneth Ambrose, Blacksburg, VA; sister, Shirley Dillon, Chesapeake, VA. Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Jeff Mohon, Dave Fields, Robert Nicholson, Frank Briar, Gary Bruder, Murry Burns and Willie Ray Nicholson. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 105 West Park Drive Suite 415, Brentwood, TN.
