Frederick Roby

Frederick Eugene Roby, age 80 of Clarksville, TN, went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m.  Friday, August 25, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Clarksville with Dr. Ronny Raines and  Rev. Pat VanDyke officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with Air Force Honors.

The Roby family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and on Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at First Baptist Church.

Fred was born on March 22, 1943, in Detroit, MI, son of the late Eugene and Frances Settle Roby. He was an Air Force Veteran, having served in Vietnam. After his service to our country, he later retired from his teaching career at Norman Smith Elementary School. Fred was known for his humility, kind spirit, unselfishness, and love for all that he knew. Fred loved the Lord and lived a life of service to others. His warm smile and deep genuine interest in others will be missed by all. One family member said, “Fred Roby was one of the finest humans to ever walk the earth.”

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Roby, and sister-in-law, Rosemary Roby.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Kathie Bailey Roby; daughter, Elizabeth Roby (Robert) Stillwell; son, Tim Roby; brother, Wilbur Ray Roby; grandchildren, Clara Jane Stillwell, William Roby Stillwell, and Katherine Aylene Stillwell.

Pallbearers will be Robert Stillwell, Caleb Bullock, Shane Williams, Troy Jones, Colby Jones, and Coltyn Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be William Stillwell and Josiah Williams.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Find Us Faithful.
