Freddy D. Mohon, age 73 of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Tennessee State Veterans Home.
Freddy entered this life on November 18, 1948, in Clarksville, TN to the late James Acree Mohon and Mavis Reason Mohon. He graduated from Woodlawn in 1968. The same year he was drafted into the Army. He served as Military Police SGT until his honorable discharge in 1971. Freddy started at Trane in 1971 and eventually retired in 2014. He enjoyed reading, collecting coins, was known to be a history buff, and enjoyed spending time with family. Freddy had no children of his own. His niece and nephews were his children. Freddy stepped in as their surrogate father in 1973, following their father’s death. He made sure they had whatever they needed, not just material things. He had no problem disciplining them. His niece and nephews are forever grateful for the unconditional love he showed them. Freddy loved living life and had a sweet tooth. He loved ice cream, especially Neapolitan.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Mohon, and nephew, Donald L. Smith, Jr.
Survivors include his sister, Peggy Mohon Smith; niece, Amy (Ronnie) Morgan, of Big Rock, TN; nephew, Scott (Roxana) Smith, of Clarksville, TN; great-nieces, Samantha (Brian) Smith, Ashley Smith, Serena (Michael) Santana, Katelyn Smith, and Hailey Smith; great-great-nieces, Kylee Smith, and Emma Smith.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. Thomas West staff on the 7th floor and to house 8 staff at Brigadier General Wendell H. Gilbert Tennessee Veterans Home.
