Fred W. Gooch, 80, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Fred was born August 23, 1932 in Sparta, Tennessee, son of Bertie Everett Gooch and Effie Mae Cope Gooch. Fred was a distinguished soldier, having retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years service. He was a Baptist.
He was the devoted and caring husband of Simone Fouillaret Gooch of Clarksville. Other loving family members include his daughters, Sylviane Bloss of Clarksville, Effie Threlkel and husband Jim of Trenton, KY, and Pat Housley of Guthrie, KY; his grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Dominique, Desaray, Josh, and Tiffany, and great grandchildren Deanna, Logan, Colton, Lilly Belle, Mariah, and Jonique; and siblings Freeman Gooch of Nashville, and Wiilliam Gooch, Ila Fisher, and Wilma Cantrell, all of Sparta.
