Fred Tate Finley, Jr., age 82 of Erin, TN, passed away November 11, 2015 at Signature Healthcare of Erin.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Rev Charles Martin, Bro Paul Moody, and Bro Daniel Medders officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Fred entered this life on September 19, 1933, son to Fred Tate Finley, Sr. and Mildred Whitney Finley. He was fifth of eight children.
Fred served his community for many years, including his life long devotion to Erin United Methodist Church, two terms as City Mayor as well as fifteen years on the County Court (now known as the County Commission). As a businessman, he founded Shamrock Motors, as well as enjoyed many years of successful soybean farming.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina Finley.
Survivors include his daughter, Gail Bedlack (Andy); son, Fred Finley, III (Lisa), three sisters, Linda Elledge, June Cain and Tate Brooks, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Serving as pall bearers will be family and friends.
