Evie Mae Bryant Smith, age 97 of Cunningham, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Signature Health Care.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Koontz officiating. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Sunday.
Evie was born May 4, 1918 in Montgomery County to the late George Washington Bryant and Nonie Baggett Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Smith; children, Bobby Earl Smith and Betty Sue Suggs; brothers, Alex, Cullom, Joe, Curnel, Paul, and Charlie Bryant; sisters, Lucy Bryant, Fredonia Mayfeild, Becky McWhorter, Dottie Shelton, and Lizzie Wall. Evie was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara Jean Greene and husband, Warren; sister, Georgia Balthrop; Grandchildren, Ricky, Mark and Mike Greene; Lita Combs; Tracey and Wendy Smith; Terry and Troy Suggs; great-grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, and Heath Greene, Amanda Taylor, Haley Davis, Ben Smith, Jared and Trevor Combs, Dana Simpkins, J.R. Ellis, and Crista Blackburn; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Emily Greene, Carson, Cooper, Connor, and Chance Greene, Hunter and Dylon Simpkins, Timothy Taylor, Tayden Combs, and Haeden Blackburn.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
