Evelyn Virginia Thompson Ospina Schindler, 58, Clarksville, went home to be with her LORD, Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kirkwood Baptist Church with Bro. Ed Manners and Bro. Lan Stapleton officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church. She was born July 20, 1951 in Clarksville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Charles Frederick Thompson and the late Marie Keatts Thompson. Mrs. Schindler was a 1970 graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Austin Peay State University where she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota women's music fraternity. She was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, vocalist, seamstress, and horse lover. She worked a variety of jobs including sales associate; welder and lift truck operator for Aladdin Industries, Inc., Nashville; computer aided drafting for K&S Engineering, PLLC, Clarksville and Beaver Engineering, Inc, Nashville; and ministry assistant for the Cumberland Baptist Association, Clarksville from December 2002 through May 2008. She is survived by her husband of 9+ years, Mark Jay Schindler; brother, Wendell Lloyd Thompson and wife, Mary Virginia Bryant Thompson of Clarksville; step-brother, Dennis Wade Bryant and wife, Alice of Nashville; daughter, Marie Ruth-Laurel Ospina Chadwick and husband, Wesley Arvin of Clarksville, daughter, Julieta Consuelo Ospina McPherson and husband, Timothy Alphus of Ashland City; step-daughter, Holly Kirsten Schindler, Adams; step-mother, Iris Anteenue Sadler Thompson of Nashville; grandchildren, Shawn Cyrus Wilson, Cora Riannon Wilson, Abigail Josephine Wilson of Clarksville, Grady Wyatt McPherson and Isabel Grace McPherson of Ashland City. Pallbearers will be Wes Chadwick, Tim McPherson Jr., Gary Haley, Jim McLean,John Allensworth, Richard Schindler. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Kirkwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kirkwood Baptist church, 3400 Kirkwood Road, Clarksville, TN 37043-1315.
