Evelyn Samuels Stewart

Edith Evelyn Samuels Stewart, age 94, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Roger P. Freeman officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Entombment will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, KY.

Evelyn entered this life on December 27, 1928 in Philpot, Kentucky to the late Cortis and Charlotte Likens Dickens. She was a graduate of Louisville Girls High School, a former member of Highview Baptist Church, Louisville, KY, and The Women’s Club of Fern Creek, Kentucky. Evelyn was a member and enjoyed fellowship at First Baptist Church, Clarksville. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed reading.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Samuels, and second husband, Carl Stewart.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Judy) Samuels, Donald Samuels, and Joy (Richard) Miller; siblings, Bonnie Greene, Nancy  Davis, and Bob Dickens; grandchildren, Scott, Stacy, Cody, and Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Eli, Wyatt, Avery, Patton, Toby and Rachel.

Memorial donations may be made to Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, 1310 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027, or First Baptist Church Endowment Fund.
