Ethel Elizabeth Childress, 91 of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 22, 2016 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Witmer officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Donelson National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
Ethel was born on June 15, 1924 in Clifton Forge, VA, the daughter of the late Richard Carrington Williams and Gladys Stone Williams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Robert Earl Childress, Sr.; sons, Robert Earl Childress, Jr. and Danny Childress; brothers, Richard C. Williams, Allan Williams, and LeRoy Williams; sisters, Elsie Sink and Helen Reid.
She was a member of Community Church and the Gold Star Wives.
She is survived by her son, James (Connie) Childress; daughter, Cindy (Danny) English; daughter-in-law’s, Mary Childress and Dee Childress; grandchildren, Lisa Wilbanks, Stacey Childress, Amy Griffin, Tina Hudson, Landon Childress, and Sarah Childress; great-grandchildren, Chuckie, Danielle, Kaylee, Chip, Makayla, Chance, and Bella; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Church Youth Program and/or the Clarksville Humane Society.
