Etha Lurlene Carpenter, 96, of Woodlawn, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Grace Health Care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Sugar Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Ronald Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the church.
Etha was born March 17, 1916 in Woodlawn, TN, daughter of the late Finis and Maggie Cox Ladd.
Etha was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey J. Carpenter; sons, Howard and William; and three daughters, Sharon, Gerdin, and Carla. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Kukral of Phoenix, AZ and Wanda (Jackie) McGovern of Woodlawn; son Timothy (Sue) Carpenter of New Whiteland, IN; 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wayne Kukral, Mike Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter, Jackie Travie McGovern, Shane Carpenter, and Brad Carpenter.
