Essie Marie Jones

Essie Marie Jones, age 88 of Cumberland City, TN, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

   There will be a celebration of Life Service on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. David Averitt officiating, interment will follow at Cumberland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home and again on   Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

   Marie was born to the late Ralph Fred Todd and Eula S. Keen in Crosville, TN. She later graduated from Nashville Business College. She then worked for Commerce Union Bank in Nashville where she met the love of her life William Thomas Jones. After Marriage, they moved to Cumberland City where she was involved with Hope Chapter-462 of the Eastern Star, and a long-time member of Cumberland City First Baptist Church. 

  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her dear husband; William Thomas Jones. 

 She leaves behind her dear children; Terry Jones, Freddy Jones, and Sandy Ashley. Essie also leaves behind her dear grandchildren; Morgan Ashley Petersen (Dustin), Alex Jones, Cole Jones, and Zach Jones. She was also very proud of her great-grandchildren; Raegan Petersen, and Michah Petersen. 

 Serving as Pallbearers will be Alex Jones, Cole Jones, Zach Jones, Dustin Petersen, John Johnsey, and Dustin Lewis.
