Ernestene Schmittou

Ernestene Bryant Schmittou, 73, Clarksville, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, TN. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Dukes and Geoffrey Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 12 noon until the hour of service Saturday at the church. She was born March 27, 1936 in Montgomery County, TN and was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lillian Mae Baggett Bryant; husband, John Dillard "J.D." Schmittou; daughter, Kay Schmittou Elias; and brother, Joe Corbin Bryant. Mrs. Schmittou was a seamstress and a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, David K. (Cindy) Schmittou, Clarksville, Johnny B. (Debbie) Schmittou, Plano, TX, Randy J. (Cherie) Schmittou, Cunningham; brother, Stephen Bryant, Goodlettsville; sisters, Patsy Stagner and Bettye Batson, Cunningham; grandchildren, Kristi Hansin, Amy Allison, Hayley Callaghan, Teri Schmittou, Jonathan Schmittou, Jordan Schmittou, Aaron Schmittou and Allison Schmittou; great-grandchildren, Lance Callaghan, Kaya Hansin, William Allison and Korbin Hansin. Pallbearers will be Darrell Batson, Jeff Stagner, Jordan Schmittou, Aaron Schmittou, Johnny Ludwig, Marshall Stevenson, Monroe Walker and Frank Crotzer.
