Emmett Sexton

March 25, 1949 — June 12, 2017

Emmett Dewayne Sexton, age 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Wofford Cemetery, Stewart County. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson and 11 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at Bible Baptist Church.
Bro. Sexton was born on March 25, 1949 in Pathfork, Kentucky, son of the late, Andy and Cleo Scott Sexton. Emmett dedicated his life to the Lord’s work. He was a retired Pastor, having served congregations such as Bible Baptist Church and most recently Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Stewart County where he still held church membership. Also, Emmett currently served as a Chaplain with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and was always pleased to offer pastoral and spiritual care.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia Byrd Sexton; son, Pete Sexton and wife Deon; daughters, Deborah Childs and husband Rich and Rhoda Wilson and husband Jeremy; and brother, Greg Sexton. He was the doting grandfather of eleven grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Missy Collins, Anthony Janusas, David Verissimo, Marty Pierce, Douglas Tackett, Matthew Ritscher, Harold Stilts, and Sonny Goodowens.
