Emmett "Buddy" Denton, 82, of Clarksville passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visistation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born August 7, 1929 in Clarksville, TN and was preceded in death by his parents Cenie and Ike Denton.
Buddy was a devoted husband, father and Papaw. He loved to spend time outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Mr. Denton was a Veteran of U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, a life long farmer and retired from Trane Company.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Edith Denton, Alexandria, PA; daughters, Pam Denton Gentry, Beth Denton Pounds, Jennifer Denton, Clarksville; sons, Brad Denton, Jeff Denton, Clarksville; brothers, Paul (Mary Evelyn) Denton and Charles Denton; grandchildren, Tabitha Gentry Lopez, Sabrina Gentry Sloffer, Dylan Pounds, Brooke and Bethany Edwards, Braylee Teets; great-grandchildren, Isabella Lopez, Kaleb and Noah Sloffer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
