Elting Smalls

Elting Buster "Slim Trucker" Smalls, Jr., 67, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at his home in Clarksville.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date at Galloway Funeral Home, Beaufort, South Carolina. Burial will take place in Beaufort National Cemetery.
Elting was born September 27, 1944 on St. Helena Island, SC, son of Elting Buster Smalls, Sr. and Rosalee Archer Smalls. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam. Most recently, he was a school bus driver for the Clarksville/Montgomery Co. School System. Prior to his employment with the school system he was a professional truck driver. He loved to dance and cook. Elting was a member of the Ft. Campbell Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Markovich. Survivors include his son Eltin Smalls of Kentucky; daughter Muriel Colemon; son in law Stephen McCormick; grandchildren Geneive and Julius Colemon; great grandchild Tristin Colemon; brothers Joe N. Smalls, Daniel Smalls, Darrel Smalls, Michael Marshal, Vincent Marshal, Thomas Markovich; and sisters Gloria Garmany, Omega Smalls-Francis, Rosalyn Barrett, Maxine Oakley, Felicia Ragland, Victoria Smalls, Carmen Marshal, Deidra Marshal, Lynn Bryant, and Sally Maybin.
