Rev (Lt. Col., Ret.) Elmer Gene Horn

Rev (Lt. Col., Ret) Elmer Gene Horn, age 89, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Tennessee State Veterans Home.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Dorris Faye Horn, who passed away at her home on January 30, 2025.

The lives of Rev. Horn and his wife, Dorris, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Rev. Paul Scott officiating. Full military honors will follow for Rev. Horn.

Gene entered into this life on July 11, 1935, in Lambert, MS to the late Calvin and Catherine Rounseville Horn. He was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church. Gene retired from the U.S. Army following over twenty years of faithful service as a Military Chaplain.

Survivors include his daughter, Gena Barefoot, and her husband, (Col., Ret) Wayne Barefoot; grandson, Maj. (USMC) Taylor Gene Barefoot, and his wife Katie; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Layne and Hannah Lee Barefoot.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northeast Baptist Church where Rev. Horn pastored after retiring from the U.S. Army.
