Elizabeth "Liz" B. Thompson, 68, of Montgomery, AL and currently a resident of Columbia, South Carolina passed away January 13, 2019 at Providence Hospital. She was born on May 11, 1950 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late James and Elizabeth (Russ) Bailey.
Liz was a devoted employee for the state of Alabama for 38 years. She had served as an Executive Secretary for the Governor of Alabama. During retirement she enjoyed time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed traveling, spending time with her beloved pets and her newfound family at The Waterford at Columbia.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Charles (Dawn) Thompson and Robert (Mary Stewart) Thompson, three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Abigail and Elizabeth Thompson, her three siblings, James (Sally) Bailey, Susan (Jerry) Jindrich, and Robert (Jannah) Bailey; local survivors, aunt Ella Bailey Hay, and cousins, Eleanor Hay, Corinne Mabry, Betsy Kimbrough, and Peggy Bashore.
The Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, Tennessee, 213 Main Street on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the ASPCA www.secure.aspca.org in Memory of Elizabeth B. Thompson.
