Elizabeth Ann Ferrell, 83, Ashland City, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Alive Hospice, Nashville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Loyd Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Elizabeth was born June 24, 1928 in Paducah, KY and raised in Marion, TN. She was the daughter of Vernon and Delma Morrison Stockdale. She received her Education degree from APSU where she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. After serving 37 years as an educator, she retired in 1995 from the Cheatham County School System where she was Principal of West Cheatham Elementary School. Elizabeth lived in Ashland City from 1958 until 2010, and most recently at The Cumberland for two and a half years. She was a member of Ashland City United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Gwin Ferrell in 1995, her son David Ferrell in 1987, and siblings Marjorie Marlowe, Lester Stockdale, and Aubrey Stockdale. Survivors include her son Greg Ferrell and his wife Betsy of Nashville; her daughter Connie Ferrell and her husband Jim McClish of Martinsville, IN; brothers Billy and Ray Stockdale, both of Marion; sisters Winnie Lou Oldemeyer of Nashville, Louise Rye of Clarksville, and Evelyn Smith of Akron, OH; grandchildren Brad Ferrell, Janet Ferrell, Rob Lowe, Collin Lowe, Geoffrey Ferrell, Matt Ferrell, and Allison Ferrell; and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Ferrell, Rob Lowe, Collin Lowe, Matt Ferrell, Gabriel Stockdale, Ricky Rye, Larry Haight, and Jim McClish.
