Elizabeth Hope "Jolly" Downs, 85, Clarksville, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Louie Montoya officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born November 8, 1926 in Stewart Co., Tennessee, daughter of Jack and Nona Nolin. She was previously employed with the Clarksville/Montgomery Co. School System and was a member of First Assembly of God.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Downs; her sons, Ronnie Downs, Johnny Downs and Ricky Downs; brother Joe Nolin; and sister Jackie Snow. Survivors include her son Richard Downs and his wife Betty of Clarksville; her daughters Faye Rosser of Clarksville, Beverly Bearden and her husband Mike of Oxford, AL, Gayle Downs of Clarksville, Donna Petersen and her husband Chris of Dover, and Sherri Downs of Clarksville; brothers John Nolin of Murray, KY and Bob Nolin of Mayfield, KY; sisters Loretta Logsdon of Mayfield, KY and Bonnie Kalama of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
