Elizabeth Barnes

Elizabeth (Liz) Hughes Barnes, 78, Erin, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Centennial Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Adams officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born April 10, 1929 in Humphreys Co., TN, daughter of Rube Adams and Elanore Street Adams. She was a Baptist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Hughes. Survivors include sons Bobby (Josie) Hughes and Al (Kathy) Hughes, both of Erin; brothers Clyde Adams of McEwen, Paul Adams of Erin, and Tom Adams of McEwen; sisters Mary Tittle of McEwen, Rita Fitzgerald of Erin, Wilma Gier of McEwen, and Diane Baggett of Erin; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
