Eleanor "Elly" Richards, 72, Cunningham, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at her residence.
A celebration of her life will be held 12 noon, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Raines officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Richards was born June 17, 1944 in West Jefferson, NC and was preceded in death by her parents, James Harvey and Winifred Faye Ralston Payne.
She was a former real estate agent for Century 21 and took great pleasure in chairing the F.U.E.L. program at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Terry A. Richards; sons, Kristopher (Donna) Richards, Kevin (Mary Beth) Richards; daughter, Katherine (Christopher) Scharven; brother, James H. Payne; sister, Fairinda Payne; 8 grandchildren, Kristine Scharven, Kimberly Gulick, David Scharven, Kelly Scharven, Eric Richards, Alex Richards, Hunter Richards, Hannah Richards; and great-grandson, Timothy Gulick.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church - F.U.E.L. Program.
