Elbert Weatherford

October 30, 1934 — February 4, 2017

Elbert “Red” Weatherford, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Signature Healthcare.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 with Rev. Lee Billings officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
He was born on October 30, 1934 to Lester Weatherford and Allie Rittenberry Weatherford. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Zetha Ray Weatherford; daughter, Yvonne Weatherford Turner; four brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Weatherford is survived by his wife, Shirley Seay Weatherford; step-daughter, Sharon Allbert; granddaughter, Brandy Earheart; 2 step grandsons, Clayton and Stephen Allbert; 3 great-grandsons, Sinjin, Reese, and Sammie Earheart; 1 special great nephew, Davie Bryant whom he loved like a son.
Red was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon for over 50 years.
He was a truck driver for Marvin Hayes Lines and later retired from Yellow Freight. He was a delivery driver for several years for State Beauty Supply. He owned, trained, showed, and judged Tennessee Walking Horses for many years.
Pallbearers will be George O’Quinn, David Glisson, Justin Glisson, Scott Seay, Steven Seay, and Dewey Dennis.
