Edward `Ben` Jackson Choate, 97, Adams, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Bordeaux Long-Term Care, Nashville. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Mike Madewell officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born April 27, 1911 in Madisonville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Choate and Minnie Belle Choate; son, Donald Choate and his wife, Mary Othel Choate. Mr. Choate was a Christian, a farmer and a U.S. Army Veteran. Survivors include his children, Jimmy Choate, Laura Landrum, all of Clarksville; sister, Obie Harris, Ashland City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Hudgins, Matt Hudgins, Jeff Young, Ricky Perry, Mark Hudgins, Tommy Sterry, Kevin Judish and Bill Ballar.
