Edward Earl Bryant, 85, Cumberland Furnace, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Roy Goodmiller officiating. Burial will be in Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. til 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bryant was born February 7, 1926 in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Emily Underwood Bryant; wife, Beatrice Miller Bryant, and later his wife, Lee Neblett Bryant; brother, Dossie B. Bryant; sisters, Pearl Baggett, Hattie Mixon, Gertie Logan; and his son-in-law, Michael Corbitt.
He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran; retired from Marathon Oil Company after 38 years, member of Shiloh Church of Christ, American Legion and Cunningham Civitan Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristin Corbitt, Cumberland Furnace; son, Jerry Edward Bryant, Trenton, MI; step-daughter, Karen Vaughn; step-son, Ronald Neblett; grandchildren, Jerry Edward Bryant II, Brett Bryant, Pam Wall, Lyndie Strahan and Mark Dankow; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Harrison, George Vaughn, Ronnie Neblett, Michael Sykes, Stump Jori, Eddie Black, Phillip Sykes, Scott Biter. Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Underwood, Frank Biter, Phillip Baggett, Paul Miller and James Marvin Miller.
