Edward Akin

Edward Earl Akin, age 67, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Lannom and Gary Akin officiating. Burial will follow in the McWhorter Cemetery.
The Akin family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Edward was born March 7, 1950 to John Morgan Akin and Mary Elizabeth Hayes Akin. He was a former mechanic for Perkins & Miller, Clarksville Tire, and a retiree from Trane Company. He was also the owner of Edward's Auto and Tractor Repair.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers JD, Herman, Walter Lee, Tee, Thomas, and Dean Akin.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathy Griffey Akin; his children, Jerry Akins, Elaine Byard (Gary), Rachel and Aaron Akin, all of Clarksville; grandchildren, Gavin Akins, Meredith Cook (Jordan), Hannah and Samuel Byard; great grandchild, Mary Caroline Cook; brothers, Norman and Wade Akin; sisters, Elizabeth Stockdale, Lillian Stockdale, and Patricia Dyce; along with many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Akin, Johnny Akin, Douglas Akin, Terry Akin, Scooby Eads, Kurt Suiter, Gavin Akins, and Samuel Byard.
