Edsel Wayne Vaughn, 72, Clarksville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 25, 2009, at his home. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. Bill Steinke officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY, with military honors. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 9, 1936 in Trafford, AL, and was the son of the late Grover W. Vaughn and Vivian Dorman Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn was a member and deacon of the Community Church, and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and belonged to the 7th Corp/Germany, Aviation, Ft. Campbell, 101st Airborne, Shriners and a Masons. He was currently in his 40th year as owner of Vaughn's Auto Service and his 22nd year of service with Penske Truck Rental. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ann Vaughn, Clarksville; son, Bobby Ellis (Deanne) Vaughn, PA; daughters, Kathy (Walton Ronald) Hutchison, Clarksville, Cindy (Jeff) Raveling, Nashville, Angie (Larry) Averitt, Clarksville; brother, Gerald (Johnny Faye)Vaughn,Birmingham Al.; sisters, Carol (Jim) Harris, Clarksville, Laverne(Raymond) Phillips,Birmingham, AL, Mary Vaughn, AL, Mavis Carmichael, Florida, Nezalee (Mitchell) Thomas, Birmingham,Al,; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
