Cecil Edward "Dubby" Akins, 58, Cunningham, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Bruce Cunningham and Rev. Terry Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. He was born February 8, 1953 in Montgomery County, son of William "Bill" and Ruth Williams Akins. Mr. Akins was employed by Trane Company and was a member of Christ Fellowship Church. Other than his parents, he is survived by his children, Tammy (Monte) Sanchez, Mollie (Roy) Akins; sister, Pam (Johnnie) Knight; brothers, Gary (Raini) Akins, Mike (Lisa) Akins; grandchildren, Michael Dillon Sanchez and Alyssa Sanchez; nieces and nephews, Matt McCurcdy, Brandon "Butch" (Megan) McCurdy, Christi (Ralph) Holt, Dalton Akins, Ashley Fitzpatrick, Amber Akins and Dane (Tina) Smith; great-nieces and great-nephews, Rachel Fitzpatrick, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Garrett Holt, Gracey McCurdy and Audry McCurdy. Pallbearers will be Michael Dillon Sanchez, Johnnie Knight, Matt McCurdy, Dalton Akins, Anthony Rye and Anthony Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Williams, Don Hayes and Gilbert Pulley.
