Earnest Lee Bateman, Sr., age 73, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at his home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Walton's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Arrington, George Adair, and Mike Rittenberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Shores Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church and 12 noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the church.
Earnest entered this life on May 10, 1940 in Cheatham County, a son of the late William Ike and Minnie Ann Bateman. Earnest was a Carpenter and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of over 48 years, Patsy Hogue Bateman; children, Lanell Kennedy (Benny) of Clarksville, Earnest Lee Bateman, Jr. (Olivia) of Ohio, and Tracey Bateman of Clarksville, and Darla Jean Cummings of Florida; fourteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter; and sisters, Corabell Stanley of Selma, NC and Louise Rose of Clarksville.
Pallbearers will be Benny Kennedy, Brandon Bateman, Devan Andrews, Joseph Kennedy, Jonathon Kennedy, Ben Kennedy, Lee Bateman, and Mike Tubberville.
