Dr. Donnie Lewis

Dr. Donnie Carlyle Lewis passed away Friday January 18, 2013 in Erin, TN. He was born September 2, 1947 in Clarksville, TN. son of the late Buford Lewis and Sybil Jackson Lewis. Dr. Lewis was owner of Lens Crafters in Clarksville and Franklin, valedictorian of his class at Austin Peay State University, attended Southern Collage of Optometry, held a Doctorate in Epidemiology from East Tennessee State University, Master’s degree in Public Health, Member of Erin Rotary Club, Jaycees, volunteer for Luxottica Foundation, OneSight Organization, and Houston County commissioner for 34 years. A celebration of his life will be 11am Tuesday at Springhill United Methodist Church with Bro. Paul Moody, Bro. Terry Brown, Bro. Jeff Stark and Sis. Haley Robinson officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30pm until 8pm Monday at the funeral home and from 8:30am until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Lewis Cemetery. Survivors include one son Steven Lewis (Julie) of Clarksville, TN. Lauren Mitchell (Matthew) of Clarksville, TN. Lindsey Lewis (Kelly Matzmaker) of Erin, TN. three grandchildren Ansley Matzmaker, Haley Mitchell, Brody Mitchell.
