Dorothy Sitz Herndon, 83, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Signature Health Care.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Effler officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday and from 12 noon until the hour of service on Monday.
Dorothy was born June 24, 1932 in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Minor Rittenberry and Jewel Allen Gaither Rittenberry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Jean Sitz and her sister, Debris-Dena Hicks. She attended First Assembly of God and retired from Revco Drug Store as a cashier.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Sitz Young and Rosemary Sitz Bennett; brother, Ray Rittenberry, sister, Jewell Helen Self; grandchildren, Billy Ray Black, Tracey Lynn Black Effler, John Bridges Young, Jeana Katelyn Young, and Jacquelyn McKenzie Young; 7 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the M.A.D.D. Mother’s Against Drunk Driving organization at 53 Century Boulevard, Suite 100, Nashville, TN 37214.
