Dorothy Wall Fowler, 100, Clarksville, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Clarksville. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with the Revs. Robert Herndon and Harriet Bryan Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. preceding the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Dorothy Wall Fowler was born December 17, 1909 in Dickson County, the daughter of James Marvin and Vema McCurdy Wall. She was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church and Hannah Marion Women's Group. She belonged to the Daughter's of American Revolution, William Edmonson Chapter. Mrs. Fowler was supervisor at the Dietician Office of Ft. Campbell Hospital. She retired as a Department Supervisor from Clarksville Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Slayden G. Fowler, her parents, a daughter, Nancy Fowler Herndon, two sisters, Lurline Smith Adkins, Mary Grace Harris, two brothers, James Russell Wall and William Murray Wall. Her survivors are two sons, James Thornton Fowler, Sr. (June) of Clarksville, and Don Wall Fowler, Chicago, IL, and son-in-law, Thomas (Jack) Herndon, Cunningham. Her grandchildren are Thomas Herndon (Diane), Odenton, MD, Robert S. Herndon (Lee Ann), Palmyra, James Thornton Fowler, Jr. (Beth), Clarksville, Merry Fowler Etling (Wm. Harold), Clarksville, James Darwin Scott Fowler (Berta), Miami Gardens, FL, and James Dewar, Atlanta, GA. Her great-grandchildren are Micah S. Herndon (Stephanie), Cumberland Furnace, Daniel W. Herndon, Cunningham, William Jamin Etling, Clarksville, James Isaac Etling (LeAnn), Ocala, FL, Christine Lang, Palmyra, Brittany Lang, Palmyra, and Aaron Fowler, Miami Gardens, FL. Her great-great grandchildren are Paul Thomas Herndon, Abbylyn Herndon, Charity Faith Etling, Aren Eckstein, Hunter Ellis, and Tristen Ellis. Pallbearers are Scott Fowler, James T. Fowler, Jr., Thomas Herndon, Micah Herndon, Daniel Herndon, William Jamin Etling, James Isaac Etling, and Wm. Harold Etling. Honorary pallbearers are member of Hannah Miriam Women's Church Group.
