Dorothy Britt

Dorothy L. Britt, 93, Cumberland Furnace, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Signature Health Care of Erin. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Greg Jones officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the Church.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born November 22, 1915 in Houston County, TN daughter of Upton and Lucy Underwood Lewis. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Britt. Mrs. Britt was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church since, 1945 where she served as session clerk and treasurer for 48 years. She was a graduate of Austin Peay Normal School, retired from B.F. Goodrich after 32 years, was formerly employed by Vulcan and a member of the Senior Citizens. She is survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be John Atkins, Randal Hayes, Charlie Britt, Buford Britt, Brandon Chambers, Roger Weatherford, Neal Lee and Austin Cocke. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Owen Chambers, Phillip Chambers, Maurice Powers, Tony Smith, David Atkins, C.L. Burkhart, Tanner Cocke and Bill Caudill.
