Dorothy Shannon Baxter - 1921 Dorothy Shannon Baxter, 88, Cumberland City, TN, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at her residence. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Buchanan, Bro. Richard Garza and Mr. Charles Dean officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. till the hour of service Wednesday at Nave Funeral Home. Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Baxter was born March 19, 1921, son of the late Ed and Eula Brown Shannon. She was a Housewife and Seamstress, a member of the Church of Christ Cumberland City and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones Baxter, Sr. a grandson, Jeff Singleton, and two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Marguerite Morrow. Mrs. Baxter is survived by her son, Charles (Candy) Baxter, Jr. of Hampshire, TN; daughters, Judy B. (Charles) Dean of Invernise, FL and Jean (Newt) Wallace of Cumberland City, TN Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, William Baxter, John Singleton, Eddie Wright, Charlie Dean, Colton Singleton, Andy Wallace, Jessie Singleton and Jamie Singleton.
