Dorothea Brooks

Dorothea Marie (Roberts) Brooks passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 90 years of age. Dorothea was born on July 10, 1927 ion Dent County, Missouri. She was the third of six children of the late Earl Newton Roberts and Faye (Davis) Roberts. She graduated from Licking High School in Licking, Missouri. Following World War II, Dorothea married Claude Preston Brooks. They resided in Erin, Tennessee. She is survived by two children Kenneth P. Brooks (Gail Brooks) of Erin, Tennessee, and Sheila E. (Brooks) Bertino (James J. Bertino, Sr.) of Jupiter, Florida. She is also survived by one grandson, Matthew Brooks Bertino (Johanna B. Bertino), and one great-grand-daughter, Evelyn Brooks Bertino. In addition, she is survived by her youngest sister, Shirley Whitmire of Salem, Missouri, and three sister-in-laws: Pauline Hachett of Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee; Dottie Hamilton of Erin, Tennessee; and Mary Jo Roberts of Salem, Missouri. Dorothea is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Preston Brooks; her parents, Earl and Faye Roberts; and her siblings: Lloyd Roberts, Henry Roberts, Wayne Roberts, and Christine Klohr. Visitation will be held Friday, 10;00 am until 12:00 pm June 29, 2018 at Nave Funeral Home Chapel, 4639 West Main St. Erin, Tennessee. Funeral services will also be held Friday, at 12:00 noon, June 29, 2018 at Nave Funeral Home. Interment will occur at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Houston County, Tennessee.
