Dora Atkins

Dora Elizabeth Atkins, 87 of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Clarksville Nursing & Rehab.
A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with the Rev. Ben Falls officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 and 11 a.m. until the hour Monday at the funeral home.
Dora was born September 13, 1927 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Matthew and Johnnie Rose Yarbrough. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Macon Yarbrough, Clinton Yarbrough, Clayton Yarbrough, and Eskew Yarbrough; sisters, Pearl Curtis and Emma Mai Lyle. She was a homemaker and a member of Martha’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Atkins of Clarksville whom she married December 29, 1945, son, John M. (Amanda) Atkins, daughter, Debra E. (Ed) Gaynes; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth O’Berry, Daniel Edward Gaynes, Anah Laurel Gaynes, Lauren Rachel Atkins, and Noah Bryton Atkins.
Pallbearers will be Daniel E. Gaynes, Danny Bryant, Rev. Mike Proctor, Chris Schmidt, J.D. Bumpus, and John M. Atkins. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Martha's Chapel Memorial Fund in the care of Mike Atkins at 572 Bumpus Road, Cunningham, TN 37052.
