Donnie Kirkland

Donald “Pops” Kirkland, age 87, of Indian Mound, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Hinton officiating. Burial will follow at Needmore Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Sunday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Donnie entered this life on August 5, 1935, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Ernest and Ethel Evans Kirkland. He was a member of Dotsonville Church of Christ, was the founding president of Woodlawn Little League and was formerly on the 911 board. Donnie enjoyed baseball, his community, serving others, and visiting the Smokey Mountains. Above all, Donnie enjoyed time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Janey Thomas, brothers, Jimmy, and Wendell Kirkland.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Jeanette Watson Kirkland; son, Danny (Grizel) Kirkland; daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Swarens, and Amy Kirkland Carroll; grandchildren, Julia Howard, Erin White, Autumn Kirkland, Emily Carroll, Megan Linger, and Cody Kirkland; great-grandchildren, Emma, Maddy, Cooper, Parker, Thea, and Sammy. Donnie also leaves behind his furry companion, Bozo.
Pallbearers will be Cody Kirkland, Clay Kirkland, David Kirkland, Mike Bryant, Jeff Thomas, Scott Little, Mike Watson, and Caleb Slaughter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of Dotsonville Church of Christ.
