Mr. Donald Zed Wilson, age 82 of Helenwood, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Knoxville, TN.
A celebration of his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Benny Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Peach Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
The Wilson family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday morning.
Donald entered this life on January 6, 1934 in Clarksville, IN, son to the late Zed and Beulah Irvin Wilson. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army where he retired with 22 years of service after receiving the Bronze Medal, and Purple Heart. Donald was a 50 year member of Peach Grove Church, and recently attended Helenwood Baptist Church in Helenwood, TN.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Wilson; brother, Leroy Wilson; sisters, Loretta Alkie, Mary Nowack, Marie Wilson, May Wilson, and Grace King.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Iva Wilson; son, Donald Wilson; daughter, Susan Swindell (Mark); grandchildren, Tyler Swindell, Preston Swindell, and Briana Swindell.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
